Katherine Nolan – Performance Director

Katherine Nolan: Education & Performance Curator

To curate Educational & Performance aspects of MART

Katherine Nolan is a video and performance artist, currently completing a practice-led PhD entitled Seducing the Machine: Narcissism and Performance in Contemporary Feminist Practice. Her work is concerned with the erotic female body as spectacle, in particular provoking questions around narcissism and exhibitionism as seemingly incongruous with critical agency. This is currently explicated through an invested relationship with the machines and spaces that produce and frame the body in performance. Recent projects include Surface Attention, bodily interventions in re-used spaces such as SHUNT London and Stattbad, Berlin, in association with MART collective. She also co-curates Visual Deflections a video art platform for emerging artists, and is a sessional Lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts and the London College of Fashion.

Sofie Loscher – Development Assistant

Sofie Loscher: Development Officer

Source all forms of Evolution.....Funding, Sponsors, New Talent and Exhibition opportunities.

Sofie Loscher is a visual artist based in Dublin, her practice primarily focuses on installation with a scientific underpinning. It makes connections between the physical and visual, exploring issues of coercion, stability, attraction, repulsion and contradiction. Loscher appropriates domestic objects to find strange and unknown functions in their performances, and through manipulation, subverts the context of the original material. During the past two years she has exhibited widely throughout Dublin and Europe, and recently returned from a residency in Skagastrand, Iceland. She is currently a resident in Temple Bar Gallery & Studios, and graduated with a BA in Visual Arts Practice from IADT, Dun Laoghaire in 2009. She lives and works in Dublin.
